Musicologist in Residence

Appointed: One year with start date in Q1 2021

Schedule: Part-time

The Musicologist in Residence (MiR) is a post-graduate position that supports two key areas of Classical Music Indy’s mission: 1) providing cultural and historical context for all areas of its content development and 2) serving as an advisor to its core programmatic asset, the Peck Classical Music Library. The MiR will collaborate with CMI team members to appropriately research, collect, and distribute this cultural resource on several digital media platforms, enhancing CMI’s ability to develop and grow new audiences for classical music.

LOCAL CLASSICAL – NICHOLAS SOKOL

Nicholas Sokol is a composer, conductor, and pianist specializing in solo, chamber, orchestral, choral, and electronic music. Nicholas’ music has been performed throughout the United States and at prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall. His music has been performed by members of the Chicago Civic Orchestra, members of the New World Symphony, the Atlantic Music Festival Orchestra, and the Atlantic Music Festival New Music Ensemble.
