NEW CLASSICAL – TIME FOR THREE

July 4, 2022

New Classical Featured Artist – 07/04/22 – 07/17/22

This week’s playlist brings you great performances by Time For Three. On June 10th they released their new album, Letters for the Future, with the Philadelphia Orchestra led by Xian Zhang on Deutsche Grammophon. The album comprises world premiere recordings of two technically demanding and musically virtuosic concerti for trio and orchestra by two Pulitzer Prize-winning composers, written fifteen years apart but both commissioned for the group: Jennifer Higdon’s 2007 Concerto 4-3 and Kevin Puts’s brand-new Contact. Defying convention and boundaries, Time For Three stands at the busy intersection of Americana, modern pop, and classical music. To experience Time For Three (TF3) live is to hear the various eras, styles, and traditions of Western music fold in on themselves and emerge anew. Bonded by an uncommon blend of their instruments fused together with their voices, Charles Yang (violin, vocals), Nicolas “Nick” Kendall (violin, vocals), and Ranaan Meyer (double bass, vocals), have found a unique voice of expression to share with the world.

Connect to our New Classical channel to hear Time For Three talk about this newly released album and how Indianapolis holds a special place in their hearts. Don’t miss out on hearing this fantastic group and more.
