#RandomActsofMusic: Taking Music to the Streets

Over the past year, Classical Music Indy provided 45 spontaneous concerts with our #RandomActsofMusic, serving 7,428 people.

We pop up in unexpected places, surprising the community with great music.

We’ve played in front of supermarkets, on monument circle, in First Fridays at the Harrison Center, and on the canal.

We do this because everyone needs a little music in their life.

Where will we go next?

The future holds many more exciting performances, if you’re attending Gen Con 2017, perhaps you’ll run into us there… or at a First Friday event.

Follow us. Keep track of our story. Someday soon, we’ll get to brighten your day with #RandomActsofMusic!

You can help beautify Indianapolis with pop-up concerts and support local musicians! Please consider a tax-deductible donation to Classical Music Indy. Donate here. Thank you!

Cantor Janice Roger: My Music. My Story.

My Music. My Story. is one of Classical Music Indy’s initiatives to feature music, musicians, and music lovers in a fun way. To honor Jewish American Heritage Month, we spoke with Cantor Janice L. Roger, from the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation (IHC). She has been the Cantor with the IHC for 38 years and will be retiring from the position this year. Cantor Roger discusses her love of music, how it is used throughout her work at the IHC, and why she decided to serve her community through music.
